They're getting the love! 30 777 CAs is pretty good sized bid.

It's a great day to be 89 pistons! Hopefully this will brighten your day freind!

Sad day for the 787 though as buried in that announcement is that SYD goes to the 777 in NOV.

My days are always bright. Of course these positions needed to be filled somehow. 30 Captains and no first officers? That means they either expect to staff the FO's by -400 folks bumping to the 777 right seat OR forcing folks there by bumping SFO 787. I'm expecting 787 west coast bumps.

In the next two years these BES's won't exist:

CLE
LAX 777
GUM
IAH 787
IAH 777

SFO 787 is getting pretty bloated in both seats........I might have a decision to make come August.

Guam can't close...the island would tip over.

Another option: manpower planning can leave the max/min numbers stable for other BES categories and let "unfilled vacancies" naturally percolate throughout the ranks and then tweak things later once they see how all the bumps play out.

In theory, they could staff the entire airline with only widebody CA vacancies during periods of very modest overall growth (like this year).

You think IAH 777 will really close, what's your thought process just curious.

I've been hearing this garbage about what will and will not exist as far as planes and bases and such my whole career. After 19 years not one pilot has ever been correct.

Yep and throwing GUM out there like your opinion matters is bad form. Very few out there are oddballs. Most guys have families and mortgages on island to think about.

Not just throwing it out there. It's not a guess.
