Settle down. I don't believe that he was inferring that GUM is as expensive as HKG, just that there is precedence for COLA for international domiciles.

He's like the DAL pilots who tried to destroy NWA pension in the merger. If they can't have one, no one can. FF is just s petty man child.

In 2015 or thereabouts, Guam went from 12 737s to 11. Now, based on the below article, it looks like they're pulling another 3 frames from Guam this November.

So, don't know about pressure for Guam to close, but it does seem like there is pressure to pull their aircraft.

Actually most things are more expensive, but nice try. Let me guess, if Guam gets a COLA you think you deserve an override for living in Bucks County or The Woodlands as well?

Sad that SYD leaves the 787 but AKL will move from the 777 to the 787 around the same time so that offsets that a bit. Even though AKL is seasonal so not an even trade. Is it still the plan that the 787 gets Seoul from the 400 and everything else from the 400 goes to the 777? The 787 currently does PVG along with the 400. The 777 gets the other PVG from the 400 in early October I think. My back of the napkin math estimates sfo 777 will need about another 150 FO's. Probably at least 30-40 Captains beyond the current vacancy bid. Does anyone know where the new 787's are going? SFO 787 must be getting pretty full.

Because... as is pointed out regularly on these forums... it is something in the contract gained at the expense of something else of value.
Looking briefly at a few online sources, while restaurants in Guam are more expensive, that's not really an indicator of "cost of living" for residents. However, Bay Area housing costs appear to be far and well above anything in Guam.
Saying "if you want Guam, then bid it" is akin to those that say there shouldn't be anything in the contract to better help commuters: "if you don't want to commute, then move to a domicile".
Whatever... no dog in this fight. I just find it interesting that United's Guam gets paid so much to go there. If they got rid of it, people would still bid it, so it cost the pilot group as a whole "something" to have it.

787 ends SFO-MUC, SFO-XIY, SFO-SYD, IAH-GIG
LAX ends IAD-LHR-IAD goes to DCA crew
SFO ends IAD-CDG-IAD goes to DCA crew
SFO gets back all SFO-HND, SFO-KIX from IAH (IAH has been flying 1/3 of each destination)
Who gets DEN-NRT-DEN? LAX or SFO? most likely whoever is most overstaffed.......
What all this means for 787 staffing I can't even guess. I would imagine both LAX and SFO are somewhere between properly and over staffed. Displacements? Maybe? To many moving parts here.
