My uneducated and totally irrelevant thoughts:
They will soldier on with the 767 fleet till the MOM is out. The MAX 9 and 10 will slowly replace the 757 so there is no need for 321s or 330s. Seems like United is moving toward an all Boeing fleet 10 years down the road, eventually narrowing it down to four fleet types. 737, 797 (MOM), 787, 777.

Look, I wish we would order the 321 too. Im sure there are many factors at play here but I just don't see it happening with this latest MAX order.

Like the A350's, I doubt we will ever see the Max 10's. My guess is that order is a place holder till Boeing fleshes out the MOM, 797, enough for a launch customer, namely us. Then we will see another conversion of the Max 10 orders to the 797.
The current problem with all this is that it defers those planes quite a ways out into the future. Cancelling the 737-700's drastically changes the hiring picture, and fleet for the next 10 years, hence the renewed emphasis on RJ's.

Be careful Dave. You'll be accused of spreading negativity by HalfWing and MoP.

Where? I keep asking but never get an answer. Feel free to go back in my past posts over the last year and quote me where I said we were headed for disaster.

717's are a great replacement for the RJ. More Max 10's anyone?

Barron's is referring to their assertion that Delta is flying out of mostly capacity constrained hubs allowing them to charge a premium for flights due to restricted flight options with high demand.
