Anything the co gives above 5 is paid 1 hr

Anything over 5 the company is able to give for 1 hr mpg. The first 5 are co or manual pickup, after 5 only the company assigned are for more mpg hours.
Pick up 5 and get 3 hrs, company assigns 2 get 2 more. Manually pickup over 5 and get nothing.
The new programing differentates manual and assigned. Before everything was considered assigned.

This is incorrect. From the union e-mail:

This means if you pick up 5, the company gets 5 more free before you get paid any more.

I'm saying (as the union is) that picking up 5 short calls that remain unused will pay 76, and if you picked up all 5, then the company can assign you 5 more, and even if they remain unused, you will not get paid for any of them. Remember, separate calculations.

Say a total of 8 unused short calls:

5 picked up, 3 assigned (in that order): pays 76
4 picked up, 4 assigned: pays 76
3 picked up, 5 assigned: pays 76
2 picked up, 6 assigned: pays 77
1 picked up, 7 assigned: pays 78

Paragraphs a and b are separate calculations. You need to be assigned more than 5 and have them remain unused to get paid above 76.

Has the change in reserve pay tracking changed anyone's mind on how they are bidding in this vacancy?

No it hasn't changed what I would bid.

As a reserve, it hasn't even changed my strategy for picking up SC's. I'm going to keep picking them aggressively because for me the primary thing is not to get used. In my BES the schedulers HATE using their SC's. I'm not waiting for a possible unused, assigned SC and risk getting popped for a four day trip.

Yeah this is what I was wondering.

Currently I'm commuting to reserve, waiting for our house to be built before moving. So basically I pick up every bottom of the barrel trip I can get. Keeps me from having to pay for a hotel. I'm guessing those living in base on reserve appreciate it as well since some of the trips I pick up really suck.

Anyway, I guess most on reserve are on reserve to work as little as possible and not to make extra cash. I suppose there are a few that really try to play the reserve game to pick up a few extra hours. I doubt the new tracking will change their minds enough to bid a vacancy to a more junior base and have to commute though.

However, I wonder if many are really considering on how this will affect them and if they'll change their minds after a few months of either not getting the extra pay for aggressively picking up SC/FSs or not picking them up and getting assigned an occasional trip.

And picking up SCs is a defensive move to avoid FSBs. There’s nothing like getting called on LSR late in the afternoon to be assigned a 0600 FSB for no pay.
