A little more than a 5%holdback... alittle less than what you think you need to spend it on.

Actually I'm quite festive. Would you care for a glass of Kool Aid with your comment?

So far this year the profit sharing pool is at 60% of last years pool at the 9 month mark. If that holds steady then 60% of last years number (11.9%) is about 7%. It's not a perfect correlation because it doesn't account for changes in margins etc. but it should be close. For 2017 UAL increased revenue but fuel costs increased $800 mil so far plus salaries increased $500 mil and Harvey cost us over $100 mil and the Basic Economy experiment cost us some undetermined amount.

The full year pools were like this:

2015 $698 mil = 13%
2016 $628 mil = 12%
2017 $350-400?

We all got raises and the pool is down so my SWAG this year is 6-8%, but last year I was way off so take that with a huge grain of salt, but in my defense I only looked at revenue and profit and not the actual pool last year when I came up with my SWAG.

That’s as good of a recap as I’ve seen. Thanks for the thought out hypothesis!

I wonder how much Dr. Dao cost us. Other than the lawsuit, I would bet close to zero.
