That used to be but in a manner typical of ALPA they arbitrarily changed it to March 1st because there were some issue with pilots about paying the taxes on the profit sharing check when it was put directly in their B Fund. It was a knee-jerk response to a few pilots who complained the taxes owed on their PS check we're taken out of their March 1 paycheck

Taxing it as regular income, for most here put them in the top 39% tax bracket for that month and the PS+earnings were taxed st that top rate. Thus, you get F’d.

No you don’t. It’s withheld not taxed. All comes out in the wash when you file.
