I think the bigger issue is how it is or isn't being communicated.
- No new hires since early May into fall. - Sept/Oct Communicates no hire hires till March. - Late Oct says back to 1200 a year starting in November - November cancels the very 1st new hire class without explanation - Week later says, class December 5th and 12th to start big push - December cancels 1st January class at least so far Absolutely none of this was explained in even a basic way, not a word to way any of this. I'm a big believer in under promise and over deliver, which is why saying every Check Airman meeting we are hiring 1000-1200 next year is silly. But to say literally nothing about the past few months is wrong and unprofessional in my opinion. It creates a information vacuum that pilots fill in. How about the used 320 we were after is getting caught up a bit, we had more returnees then planned so dialed back some, we changed course way to fast and need some time to get TK spooled up, or the board of directors change course a bit for next year. Don't need to tells use everything, but just a basic, this is what has been going on might help the perception. |

I know several guys in the pool, they aren’t even on property yet and their lives are constantly getting jerked around making career plans, and yet there is ZERO communication from any leadership about just WTF is going on with what you posted above. One of them lives in IAH, and said F it and took a Fedex class. He’d rather commute than deal with the whipsaw and get a seniority number now. Can’t say I blame him. One thing I learned in the military, troops can handle bad news as long as it’s honest. They have zero tolerance and an amazing detection ability for BS and being mushroomed. Seems applicable here too. Tell me good news, bad news, whatever just tell us what’s going on! |

Welcome to UA! Or, not.
SSDD. |
In case anyone wants to get back on topic, another social media source has activity concerning the 23 Jan Indoc class. Several new hire/CPP individuals saying they got the invite today (apparently class size is 31 or 32 individuals)

One class in months. That’s good for a handful of guys that have been in the pool, but what about the other 5 months worth of classes that were posted on Flying Apart and subsequently cancelled?
