18-04V looks like WB CA seats is the focus
EWR 777 CA 5 DCA 787 CA 5 IAH 787 CA 3 LAX 787 CA 15 IAH 737 CA 7 DEN 320 CA 6 SFO 777 FO 10 LAX 787 FO 11 For some reason it appears that they are really preventing backfills on this bid. The min/max spread is large in all areas. I would expect most if not all the LAX 787 CA/FO awards to come straight off the overstaffed 787 in SFO.....THis bid may turn out to be a dud. |
I think you're right, many sfo 787 pilots will head to lax. I figured the 787 would be more overstaffed then it is apart from SFO so that's good. PC says expect a lot more bids on it for '19 flying.
I think a fair amount of back fills on the NB's. Not a lot of room between min-max in many BES, especially on the 756. I was surprised how over staffed they still are on the 777, not counting sfo. That's also why SFO-LHR is done or will be done by DCA and IAH as a W. Source: January Bid packets. |

So looking at the numbers , there are retiring approx 100 guys by April 1st and only replacing them with this latest bid 18-04 by 60 ish guys ? Def shrinking , unless they plan on coming up with a bother bid shorty after this one .
Am I reading this correctly. |

Am I reading this correctly. Comparing retirements on the vacancy min/max doesn't mean much. |
I think 58 go in Dec 2017 alone. Something is up, ***** 737 ***** recurrent training classes for Dec are being cancelled they have no Instructors. Nobody in hiring knows then the next new hire class is. They still have over 150 unfilled positions from the last bid.
Kirby is cooking the pot!

Kirby is cooking the pot! DEC 5th class is running now the next class starts on DEC 12th and no classes have been cancelled except for the NOV 28th class. The next new hire class is scheduled for Jan 23. Whats your deal? |
Correction 737 Recurrent Classes..........No Sim Instructors .......Let me change that wording :)

You have no idea what you are talking about. This is blatantly false info used to fear monger for some reason.

They are way behind in the training department, the 737 and 787 are hurting the most because the IAH based pilots are quitting faster then they can be replaced. The positive space tickets to DEN are coming to an end and soon the free hotel will be coming to an end. LOA 40 only requires 45 days notice to go back to the line but it takes 4-6 months to get a new PI spun up. The moving of the training center has caused a mess in more ways than one and the company is behind. It is a reason we are hiring so little and having so few vacancy bids they simply can't train everyone. Not sure what any of this has to do with Kirby since this was all set in motion way before he or Munoz got here. |
