It is screwed up around here. I’ve met guys on the employee bus that were older and I would assume they are Captains...nope, I’m a new hire. Other times I run into some young punk and I assume he is a new hire...nope, a G-yard 2006 hire captain. 👨*✈️

I don't know that I'd call it "screwed up around here." I'm a 10-15 guy. The "dark decade" pushed many of us back on our hopes and plans. I'll spend my UA career on reserve so I can experience the 756, 777 and then jr Capt. I'm good with it!

Anyone have a feel for what HR & the pilot selection group view as a "cut off"? I could see an argument that if an applicant only has 10-15 years to offer, maybe it's just not viewed as a good investment. I'd like to think, given the market, that things are in my favor, but that's hard to validate.

Thanks in advance!
Apply, network and find out.

Not to be a dick, but are you really gonna let a message board give you the answer and not pursue it? If you don't apply, the cut off is whatever age you are.

This ^^^

It’s illegal to discriminate due to age, so they down ya based on the interview suit last tailored in 1989.

And just in case you borrowed a suit from your grandson, they ask some questions about popular music. That will give you away.
