Pretty sure that was sarcasm.
We truly are our own worst enemies. We demand the autonomy to self-certify, but then get butthurt when any one us does. Yep, thanks awax. Here you’ve got a guy complaining about people calling in sick and wanting to stop fake sick calls...sure, the company would love that, and they would insist that come in the way of doctor’s notes (Delta just went through this iirc). We are certainly our own worst enemies. So what’re you willing to give up to stop fake calls over the holidays then? I say nothing, I’m willing to take a few guys calling in while I get called out on reserve...beats having to give up the ability to self-certify. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's not how I see it. For me, it's that airline pilots want the autonomy to self-certify, and want their colleagues to show some honesty when doing so, since we are all in this together.
There's no "I" in "TEAM". But there is an "M" and and "E". Our union and its membership agreed to the terms of this UPA... this agreement allows sick calls and mil leave to be used as deemed necessary by the pilot.,, nowhere does it say we have to crap out a doctors note because a pilot doesn't like the idea of being called on reserve to fly a trip over a holiday period. Bottom line is WE don't need to be policed by other pilots or management... we just need to follow the UPA and go home after a trip is done... thats all. Please don't ever volunteer to be on our negotiating committee... sorry to be harsh over the holidays but this thread is ridiculous and petty. Merry Christmas |

You are a number on a seniority list... thats all. The only team that exists is the crew you're flying with on a trip and the union that represents you. This is not the military... it is a job... simple as that... so please don't insult us with the "Team" or "Its all about me" comments.

SRM in some fleets. That was always taboo....what gives? (I'm sure every sick call is 100% legit...):D I understand that some people really are sick, but this is ridiculous. If you want the good days off, get senior on something. Or...bid reserve for December. I'm sure this is going to **** some people off, but it's just not right. unbelievable Are you for real? You have to be a flight ops manager |
Lets be real...its the same thing that goes on every Christmas, New Years, 4th of July, etc.
It is what it is, the way it has always been and the way it will be. |

Merry Christmas I think everyone agrees it’s poor form, but I don’t think there’s a good fix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
