Yes, you pick based on age. Oldest goes first, youngest (God Save The Ball) goes last.

2014 average age 37
2015 37
2016 39

Source, ALPA compiled data.

Cool thanks. Now all I have to do is get an offer and a class date and I will have a better than average pick! Piece of cake.

All joking aside, that's a great way to do it. Other companies use SS#, which makes it random I guess, but it would really suck to be 55 and get stuck with the last pick. When you're 25 you can survive that kind of thing a lot easier.

Not trying to be a Debbie downer, just REALISTIC;

Yeah I was mostly being sarcastic. I know it's a long road, but I'm excited about them using age, because I'm old, and because I have a lowish SS#. I can get there though.

I hope you do.

Hopefully you’ll be one of the lucky ones that gets selected for HPI shortly (relatively speaking) after app submission.

As opposed to all the guys that have had apps on file for a decade, clean records, LCA’s, job fair/M&G’s, had their app reviewed by CageCoastCrewCenterline and told “looks great, keep on doing what you’re doing, should get a call anytime”, etc.

What's HPI? I'm going to guess hand-picked interview?
