February New Hire Classes
#31
BK has been hung out to dry on this fiasco. He takes his marching orders from the hotdog factory, and their dysfunction has made him and his department look bad in the eyes of all these new hires. You’re not supposed to see that until after you’re on the line.
Sound like the log jam is broken, I’ll be surprised to see how many in the pool have moved on to other jobs while treading water.

Forwarding what was passed to me...
From BK:
“Hi, Gang. It gives me a tremendous amount of pride and pleasure to announce that I will be turning over the reigns of Pilot Hiring at United Airlines to Ms. Susan White. Susan and I have worked side-by-side for the last 4 years, shaping the pilot hiring function at United to be what many consider the “Gold Standard” among U.S. Airlines. Susan brings such a broad range of talent to this job. Most of you saw and experienced her skills at the Standown back in September. I know that like me, you will absolutely enjoy working with Susan, as this hand-picked team (Yes, you included) continues to find the Best and the Brightest pilots to staff United’s flight decks well into the future.”
Here is the official announcement from Captain Mike McCasky:
“Please join me in congratulating Susan White as the Sr. Manager – Pilot Hiring Programs, and newest member of the Training team.
Susan joined United Airlines directly after obtaining her BA from the University of Nebraska. She flew as a Flight Attendant for several years before moving into leadership positions in Training and staff positions at corporate headquarters. Shortly after, Susan held leadership positions at O’Hare, where she worked in the Inflight and Customer Service divisions. An interest in Human Resources brought her to Denver where she served as a Recruiter and Manager as well as a Senior HR Business Partner supporting Flight Operations. Currently, Susan holds the position of Senior Manager – Pilot & Operations Recruiting where she has responsibility for all pilot recruiting as well as Airport Operations recruiting from Denver to Honolulu. In her spare time, Susan enjoys hiking the mountain trails in the Colorado Rockies, travel and spending time with her daughter Atlee, who is a Sophomore at Vanderbilt University.
Susan will begin the transition to her new role in early December and work closely with Bill Kennedy over the next month. As many of you know, Bill will be retiring from United at the end of the year and Susan’s experience with our recruiting efforts will allow us to make a smooth transition. Please look for additional information on other personnel changes to the FTC team over the next couple of weeks. Thank you and have a wonderful day!”
