Did you fail an interview at a legacy?

Were you the Skywest guy who was on his phone during the sims and lost his job?

Are you stuck at a regional for a DUI?

Did you fail a checkride?

I mean because CLEARLY, based on your scope opinions, you want to stay wherever it is you are.

Pretty sure he's Expressjet, probably just a troll either way.

A troll who doesn’t understand the effects of scope.

United can do that now if we wanted. No need to buy anyone. There is no restriction on scope for us. You have no protection of your job. The only reason you have a job at skyw or whatever ** regional you work at is cause you have to work for pennies on the dollar. You are made to compete for that next contract award with all the rest of the * regionals. If United pilots wanted to, we could go to the company ask to fly your RJ for crap wages and compete against you and your ****hole company. Many of us have already been there done that and have the T-shirt. Btw, thanks for working so hard, part of the money you are not earning, cause your wage sucks, is going to my profit sharing. I might buy a jet ski with it this year.

You're letting this tool get under your skin way too much. Just be happy you're where you are. He/she is obviously miserable and just trying to throw some shade on people who work for a place they'll never be able to get hired at.

There are far more factors in the RJ conundrum than simple pilot pay, # of seats, and fuel economy.

Limited runway slot constrained airports, gate space just to name a few. Doesn't matter who flies a 76 seat RJ if you don't have the runway space to takeoff/land, or a gate to park it at. EWR gate space is ridiculous, SFO and LAX have been at capacity for a number of years.

Larger planes, less frequency is the only solution until more infrastructure can be made. Long term problems, long term solutions must be found.

And I never claimed it was "all - in". But I did say that F9 can make money on that $20 fare. Other airlines cannot. That is the reality the industry needs to face if it wants the legacies to survive.

If RJ's work so well, (anything under 76 seats) why don't we see stand alone airlines use them exclusively? Because, they don't work on a stand alone basis! They have to be subsidized by their MAJOR partner! Just ask ExpressJet when they tried to start an independent airline that should have been called "Aquafresh Airlines" since thats what all there planes looked like. Then go ask ACA airlines how the whole "Independence Airlines" worked out? Both tanked!! Come on guys think and be rational.
