First trip here, we land, walk out and into a black SUV waiting for us, down to the Hyatt centric downtown for an 18-20hr ovn. nice hotel, around ****. I had to recalibrate what domestic overnights entail.

nope. Those places are awful and nobody senior to me should ever bid the quiet town, with quaint , affordable food options, that’s a 10 minute van ride. So, scratch them off your list, people!

It’s funny how quickly I got over the Caribbean layovers. I’ll take OMA every night for life, unless the other option is Burlington, VT.

Same. Even when junior, and even with a redeye on the trip, I was STILL less tired and felt better on my days off than flying 4-4.5 four day trips a month at the regionals, with 4-5 legs a day, 12 (and less) hour overnights, being close to max FDP EVERY DAY, etc.

Same, there some things that simply get old/wear off.

I don't mind SJU in the winter, but I'm ok not seeing the DR again. Sure, PUJ is nice, post covid it went downhill IMO.

It's always an unanswerable question because it's not a FIFO/linear process. There's some sort of recipe for classes and your wait time varies depending if you are flour, sugar or butter.

Exactly why I left SWA. My first Guppy 3-day here felt like a vacation compared to the typical trip at that big regional.

I guess bottom line is each individual has to decide what is important to them. If having an 18 hour layover in a warmer locale is worth dealing with latin american ATC, customs, immigration, and working in a less comfortable environment, then I guess the 737 is right for them.
A lot of the gripe I read on here is with either customs/immigration or cans rides with under developed roads. Which is most of the world. So middle America is fine if that’s your thing, but there is a whole world out there outside of the US that is worth exploring.

Also, AUA is a Dutch island that is a short van ride. You also clear US customs before boarding the plane back to the US. Hard to complain about the place, but some of yall made a way

Different strokes for different folks, so I get it. There is something to be said when these are the things that we debate about lol

True, and if you already got to do it, you can STILL be over it.

And just a few short steps out back, you don't have to go far and it doesn't feel so Dutch-y anymore......
