What United Has To Do To Increase Profits

It's a simple argument. Short term it pays to shrink. Long-term someone will see that your markets are under served and enter. The market wants the status quo.
RE: RJs. More 50 seaters is not bad for us because it opens up more smaller markets with less competition and provides more customers. If applied correctly it works out for us and doesn't erode job protections for us as we will never bring a 737 into a market that can only support 100 pax a day.
P.s. sorry for that double post. Not sure how to delete it
Where RJs will hurt us is up-gauging smaller markets where there IS demand and they want to bring in 6 E-175s OR 4 E-190s instead of 2-3 737s. This is what Kirby wants, especially if he can get the C-Series or E-190E2 into SkyWest or Republic's hands instead of ours.

How is United’s scope. Can the company just replace mainline flying with RJs on a whim. I imagine their CASM is much lower than mainline, but if I remember correctly, even in a RJ, SWA and Spirit still can beat them.

I'm new and don't know your insider code. Just pointing out how this seems to be a fools errand. Good luck. Looks like the stock market tends to agree with me and you guys are sticking your heads in the sand. I literally don't have a dog in this fight, but it I owned UAL stock or was junior there, I would be concerned. Just seems dumb...
Guys, give him a break. I nearly lost my mind too after a decade+ at the regionals.

SongPilot, I apologize for some of the UAL pilots that think I am you. When, I read this thread, I was on the floor laughing. This might play well if you respond because they called me a psychopath😜 ! I have conversations with myself now. And, yes, flying 10 plus years in the regionals will make anyone psycho. But, I can guarantee you SongPilot is not me! Thank you for the laughs.

If the moderator wants to compare ip addresses or email addresses or whatever, they can. I assure you I'm not this other guys. But, nonetheless, why won't you answer a question and instead why do you choose to deflect?
So I ask again, how do you think you will do competing with carriers with significantly lower CASMs than you? How do you plan to win a war of attrition when you start bleeding first and your competition may not bleed at all?
Honest questions...

Whatever. Enjoy your war of attrition where you start bleeding earlier and heavier than your opponents. In the end, when you retreat to lick your wounds, your competitors will fill in the vacuum that you had to bail on. Assuming you didn't give it away via bad scope. #ualhistory

SkysongPilotW:
Yeah, the IPs and emails don’t match...
Funny you would spontaneously suggest that, in the same way a criminal tries to establish an alibi.
....but the style and theme matches. (As well as one other piece of registration data).
I might be wrong, but I’m convinced enough you’re the same person.
FWIW: you can hold a contrary opinion here. But your argumentitive style was the equivalent of poking a bear with a stick.
Repeatedly.
