Commutable, Non-commutable. I don't care. I don't want to fly either of them!

Nope. That's Floyd's boat. That's a new-hire FA.

I’d like to hear more opinions comparing the flexibility of schedules between SW and UA. A lot of the archived posts sound pre crew companion and are out of date.

Crew Companion makes pilot-to-pilot trades easier, but it sadly doesn't help much with trading with open flying.

I have met a vast number of people who sat right seat of the 747 and commuted until they retired the plane because of the lifestyle. In addition, I have only met one person who said they didn’t love the WB flying....and this dude was talking about aliens on the trip and how he does science experiments with crew meals so take that fwiw.

I see why guys get wrapped around the axle with the money equation, but it’s a fools discussion because you’re going to make lots of it at any legacy. Since this is a second career for most, seems to me the lifestyle is what one should decide on and chase that...but that’s just my opinion obviously because I don’t care about how much money is left in the bank when I die.
A lot avoid the lifestyle to stay away from the negative effects of rotating shifts. It's not a big deal short term but over the decades it really takes a toll on some people.

United's trip trading system is absolutely horrible. Little to no flexibility. I have lots of buddies at SWA who easily move their schedules around. FWIW

So that's what they're supposed to look like! I get the 70 year olds going to Guam...and those are the young ones.
