The other is I'm doing it for a change of pace and to knock the dirt of the flying skills a little. While I do fly a fair amount on the 777 (I rarely play the landing class game), I've seen how some of the guys that camp out in the back seat for a decade do when it's finally time to go back to work.

Preach it BROTHER!!!! I am seriously sick and tired of those can’t fly anything but a mattress guys myself.:p

You make it sound like that mattress is going to fly itself. Someone’s gotta do it😎

You'd think those guys would be embarrassed to even be part of the crew....

Thanks to those types I got quite a bit more stick time on the 777 than my seniority should have allowed.

Anyone know where it's posted (or how it's communicated) when an awarded lateral move takes place? The initial vacancy bid announcement said, "...Lateral activations may occur as early as the June bid month." Trying to figure out how to bid for June... thanks!

Too late for June... they have to activate before bidding starts...

email Manpower Planning and they will likely give you an idea of what it looks like. It is entirely dependent on what the staffing is like where you are going versus what it is like where you are! If it is good for them to activate you quickly, then hold on to your hat!!

In the plus column for the NBCA positions is avoiding the grouchy, insecure authority old men that you sometime get stuck with on the bigger airplanes once in a blue moon.

It thankfully didn't happen too often but when it did?

Oy vey.

Always fly with your favorite Capt...never fly with an A hole unless you feel like being one.

Well said :D

Couldn't agree more. You can not put a value on a SCAB free life, and I will go one contentious point further . . . a life free from 570's . . . the single biggest bunch of ungrateful, blowhards currently flying airplanes.
