JB is reconfiguring their A320s to 162 seats. With the same density as an 162 seat A 320 the A220 should get 136 seats. Saying the A220 is similar to the A320 is disingenuous.

Interesting. That's what JB started with and they had problems with transcons so they went to 150. I suppose now that the NEOs are coming they can use them on the transcons and send the older 320s on shorter routes.

Jetblue is using the 321 on most transcon routes which frees up the 320 for the shorter routes

JetBlue converted all 320NEO orders to 321NEO and hasn’t taken a new 320 in quite a while. The fleet is 130 320s, 64 321s (after the last 6 deliveries this year), and 85 321NEOs (and of course 60 190s being repacked by the -300s). I don’t think JB will ever take a new 320. I’m guessing the A220-500 will be the 320 replacement in 2025+. There is talk of the -300 doing some transcons. Guess we will see how it’s used.

Haven’t even seen the A220-500. Does that even exist yet? Even at the unveiling, Airbus had zero mention of the 500. So I’m guessing it’s a long way to go.
