They return as active pilots with their seniority, pay longevity, and vacation allocation as if they were never gone. They have also been treated as active employees for pass benefits the entire time so that does not change. FWIW, the pilots that remain out can all hold widebody FO and many, if not all, can hold narrowbody CA. It is for this reason that the ones that really want to return probably already have---with some exceptions naturally.

The CAL recalls occurred PRIOR to the UPA under the CAL contract. By the time the UPA was in force all the CAL furloughees had been recalled and CAL did not have the 10-year bypass. So in summary, it was all LUAL's fault. :rolleyes: |

There are a small subset of LCAL pilots that do not have their DOH for travel as a result of the pre-merger CAL policy and I agree that needs to be corrected. In fact, it's B.S. that we are even talking about this is 2018. This should have been fixed years ago. |
