How about simply making pass travel based on mainline hire date? Is that equitable?

I think its fair as long as all the post merger (combined) pilots are being treated the same. I see retro seniority for L UAL pilots and then I for some reason don't see retro board date for L CAL pilots. I do see a disparity.

Do you mean the CAL LTD thing isn't solved yet?

I thought that was taken care of...…

That has been beaten to death. Get over it already. It will get refunded when the last person using it is retired or back off LTD. It’s been explained over and over. The company refuses to give it back and the CAL MEC set it up so that the company has control.

Give it a rest. If you’ve managed to miss the 15 or so explanations that ALPA given, just talk to your reps.

That just shows you how ignorant you are of the complications involved in what you seem to think is a simple matter. If it was based on mainline hire date most of the Expressjet flow throughs would lose years of pass travel longevity.

Let us know after you call your reps and have a clue.

I did. They informed me that it was indeed worth persuing but the former UAL Reps on the MEC, who happen to be in the majority, don’t want to pursue it.

Guess it all depends on who you talk to.

Mods, Help!

Can you please delete or move the CAL vs UAL threadjack? It is not pertinent to class dates and adds zero value to this conversation about adding another class in August.

Blt(hes, the merger was ten years ago. Get over yourselves already.

Um, UAL pilots never received "retro" board dates because they were never changed by UAL in the first place. This is a 100% pre-merger CAL issue that was inherited by the merged company.

But, yes, I think it only makes sense to treat everybody the same. Obviously the fix is not as simple as it would appear.

(Could it be that nobody can figure out the DOH of all those CAL pilots? ;) )
