I realized that promptly after I started reading the thread. But before that, based on only the title, I had assumed it was that someone at United was rejoicing that nobody had been RECENTLY arrested for doing the full monty in a hotel window in Denver.

Pretty tone deaf, James. The TA fixed LOA 25. I know it didn't affect you, but it was a huge debt owed to the double furloughees, especially after the ISL screw job. It also had the snap up, which is padding your 401k as we speak.

Do I think another TA is a good idea? No. Being a revisionist in light of what the TA gave to the majority of the pilot group makes you, as I said, tone deaf.

You should feel good, James, we know that you could.

I feel good! Freddy is right on. That extension was an easy no brainer, esp. with the DAL snap up... Crazy big pay raise, and 4% right before the amendable date?? sheot. We've never seen that at the U. Not in the last 20 years anyway. It's no wonder it passed so easily.

I don’t think that an extension gets ratified. I think that 50% + 1 is done with the money grabs because we have serious things that need to change. Plus, management wants things too.

Throw some more money, fix long call reserve, vacation/training pay, and tweak the retirement to the plus side and it will pass easily. Keeping the Delta "me too" clause would cinch it.

LOL! I chuckled thinking to myself, 'does he really think that Huggy doesn't know the reference'?

Agreed. Neither the NC nor the company are working on a simple contract extension.
I'm impressed with the lack of leaks from negotiations.

So a TA was ok as long as it helped you out, is that what I'm reading?

TA's are a bad idea period. You guys deserved to have those fixes way before that so don't pounce on me too hard as being insensitive. Hows about a TA that helps the CAL 147 guys and gals regain their pass travel seniority or is that not as important as UAL's LOA 25?

As for the ISL screw job, in the not too distant past all furloughees were placed behind all active Pilots at the date of merger so there's that to be thankful for.

More than a few UAL furloughees WERE placed behind all "active pilots" at the snapshot date... not to mention behind most of the CAL furloughees as well.

The TA was a get for EVERY pilot. It was a financial olive branch after a dirtbag CEO and was rightfully grabbed as it improved everyone's situation AND provided peace while the new CEO attempted to unJeff the company.

As far as LOA25, it was a dirty deal from the outset and I won't debate you on the merits as it falls on myopic ears.

Agreed. I believe the negotiating protocol had both sides meeting around three weeks every month. Anyone know if they are still meeting that often?
