Your choice of screen name seems perfect. Good luck to your partner.

No wage inflation, even with the lowest unemployment rate in decades, but sure, inflation could happen. I'm thinking my Members Only jacket will be back in style when we see significant inflation again.

They can’t have recessions in the Southern Hemisphere. The Coriolis Effect allows only processions.

Recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP numbers. The GDP growth estimates were just slashed around 15% all the way down to 3.4%. If you didn’t pick up on it, I’m being sarcastic and mocking domino.

In order for dominos doom and gloom to come to fruition economic activity would have to come to a complete and screaming halt right now, and then swing negative, for the next six months.

If we stop hiring for any length of time then there are bigger problems. With the looming retirement numbers any lengthy pause will dig them in such a manning hole it may not be possible to get out of it.

Like the housing market stocks can only go up right??? Nothing to do with this being the longest bull market and tech stocks being a hair over priced for a while right? Couldn't be that. A normal healthy correction.

It must be the LIBERAL MEDIA!
In certain respects, he's correct that it's the media that can trigger stock market moves. Most of the trading today is done by computers and one of the inputs they use is newsfeed. They react off of key words in the news, causing the automated programs to either buy or sell.

I read an interesting study a couple of years ago about a program trading off of Twitter sentiment. It would categorize twitter posts as either positive or negative and then trade based on that sentiment.

Thanks, I'm going to steal that the next time one of my friends brings up Australia's economy.

I guess everything you do with your partner is done dutch?
Congrats. I’m happy for you. It’s an extreme rarity to find a quality woman for a wife. It happens. But super rare.

I’m sorry I won’t combine my finances and property with a woman. That’s not commitment issues, that’s just wise.

I watch too many people get cleaned out by women. I know one SFO guy right now getting wiped out for 500k+. My TK instructor got taken for over a million. That’s just two quick examples. There’s many more. No thanks. I’m not going to risk it. You can still have a relationship and not combine everything. Marriage is NOT required.

Your argument though is almost identical to the argument women use!!!

That’s my point. You think it’s an extreme rarity but my belief is it’s not. Just because you’ve stopped looking or never really did doesn’t mean they are rare. In your bubble that may be true but I’m personally surrounded by couples in very strong marriages. They aren’t perfect individuals but they are committed to each other beyond an informal verbal agreement.

I’ve not once said what you’ve chosen for your life is wrong. I just don’t agree that stating “don’t get married, don’t have kids” is sound advice for everyone.

What you see as wise, I see as simple risk-aversion not wisdom.

This dude’s best case scenario in life is someday being senior enough to hold the bunkie seat to Hong Kong on Fridays.

If Ann Coulter can shut down the government, I’m sure the media can trigger a stock market move.
