So I got the Hogan invite 10 days after M&G. That really is the ticket. I took the Hogan on Saturday and still waiting for interview invite. I imagine the holiday weekend is slowing it down.

If you don’t mind sharing, what were your quals at time of M&G and invite? Trying to see how I stack up myself, as I may have a M&G coming in the next few months.

If you go in and be yourself and really sell how you would go into the interview, it’s a solid way to get a recommendation.

+1 regarding M&Gs being helpful. App had been on file for a while prior to M&G, Hogan invite shortly after the M&G, interview invite shortly after the Hogan.

My sponsor took an active role in the process and I think that helped. Based on the timing it’s safe to conclude it was the M&G that generated the Hogan invite.

Civilian background
<5yrs at a regional
3000TT
1500 121
<100 121 PIC
4y degree
Lots of extra (asst. chief, tech pilot, volunteering, etc)

Best of luck!

Appreciate the insight! I’ll be prepared when the time comes.

this may come as a shock to you, but not everybody takes first available upgrade.

As the others said, covid, in my case took first available upgrade. Overstaffed coming out of 2019 which contributed. Not long after I upgraded we were doing street captains. Crazy how fast it swung.

Met with not only a recruiter at PAPA yesterday, but also got some time to talk to the head of pilot hiring. Hoping that gets my app looked at and gives me a good shot at joining United!
