Yes, FRMS/duty extension that was preserved by a previous and unanimous MEC 'No' vote on the topic. Munoz needed to change the narrative especially since the FA contract negotiation was dragging on and on.

So 787s were arriving on the property, Oscar needed relief on the ULH routes and he wanted to change the narrative? That's a bargain if I ever saw one.

I'm too old to pretend. The only way to achieve true contractual gains is to actually negotiate a contract. The JCBA doesn't count due to competing interests. I've been waiting 16 years.

You raise the spectre of the company Christmas wish list, protecting our contract, and our lopsided widebody advantage over Delta. What has changed in the landscape from the days of the extension to the present that allows us to open the entire contract now vs 3-4 years ago?

You might want to think back on what exactly happened in those last 15-20 years, and while you're at it reevaluate your valuation of leverage.

What, is Sprayragen walking into Wedoff's court with a briefcase full of papers again? Unless that's happening....

Seriously though, how were they going to fly the ULH routes unless we caved? Either they defer the deliveries or put them on different routes. Both options would have cost the company $ correct?

Talk about gross mischaracterizations. If your talking about our previous contract, how on earth can an extension be in the "lead" at all or ever?

As to our current talks, you and I have no idea how its going as our MEC's kept that completely under wraps.

Let's try to simplify this for you.

The UPA amendable date is 1/31/19. The DPA amendable date is 12/31/19 as is the APA's. The UAL MEC just put out a letter signed by every member. Ask the Delta folks how unified their MEC is. United pilots are leading this round of pattern bargaining.

I believe the latter would work. The 787 could have been an efficient replacement for the 767. And we got PLENTY for that FRMS LOA. We are making 26% more per hour now than the Jan 2017 (end of contract) pay rates. That Delta snap up REALLY paid off!! ;) It was just a 2 year extension that still upped the game in pattern bargaining for pay and furlough protections. The furloughees got their full longevity credit with retro to 2012 (finally). It's no wonder it passed by such a large margin. No brainer.

So we don’t buy more planes and we give bigger raises is how you would achieve this contract based on your example? Please tell me you aren’t on the negotiation committee.

Maybe you can get that pony and the “every Thursday” work day contract you think you need. Perhaps they can negotiate you your own blue cooler bag.
