That's like being senior and bidding the 777. And then being senior enough to hold Narita trips. But, the company decides to withhold the senior Narita trips and "hide them." it's the same principle....Now you get forced into some stupid domestic trip instead. Then, later, company decides to let pilots have the Narita trips. Too late, you can't trip trade, your illegal for it and your commuter trips to and from are all screwed up and the hotel you use for commuting is booked up. blah blah blah. Only way to protect seniority is to protect the integrity of the bidding process. Company wants free sim time open and available? sure, NP. Do it after midnight and til 6 AM. problem solved. |
Does the company publish a daily sim period schedule for all to see?
Does the company publish a non used sim period schedule of free or available and unused unscheduled sim time as well? Any stats on "no shows" or sick calls for the later o-dark thirty sim periods? |
This practice is also starting to affect new hires. They are asking for hotels before the sim to make sure they are rested prior to training. I don't know yet how this will play out. Stay tuned.

No training committee member on our National committee has said this is a dead issue. The committee is meeting regularly with the FTC management and has expressed the unions displeasure with this new policy of”slide periods”. What is dead is the fact that we can’t change this in the short term while the grievance process plays out.
DAL does not train 0200-0600. they use to have an E period where you went into the box at 2330-0330. Only authorized for west coast domiciled pilots and new hires. That time might be a little earlier now that the 20 min of dead time between sim periods is gone. Just the facts |

I hear "debriefs are graded." Why bother briefing or debriefing? Plus, you gotta understand, Denver is located in Mountain time. We got people commuting in from training events that are left and right of Denver, in other time zones.... Surely the company knows this???
