Looks like this is going to create a bunch of new hire slots for summer hiring. They said this isn’t for new flying, just retirements and to expect much larger bids in the fall. Plus a lot more new hires in the 756.

It’s officially raining widebodies in SFO.

In a good way, not in an Asiana way.

Maybe they have finally gotten TK up and running where they realize that they just need to keep the thing primed at a steady pace?!

Will give junior pilots the opportunity to bid into a BES that they probably couldn't/shouldn't hold except for the fact that senior pilots won't be willing to lose their summer vacation just to bid a different BES. They will just roll the dice and wait for the Fall or Spring bids~

Nice to see steady movement.. though it is a little bit of a bummer that they won't be backfilling this bid like usual.. they will be waiting for the Fall.
Makes you wonder if this is part of their plan in that it actually gives them a little bit of 'cushion' in the summer.
With the MAX being grounded, they probable need some fleets to be fat.
Still hope to see SRM available~

Unfilled vacancies (future newhire slots) from the first snapshot:
EWR 756 FO - 16
SFO 320 FO - 22
SFO 737 FO - 29
SFO 756 FO - 24

More 756 vacancies than I expected. Also surprised that EWR 756 has unfilleds - I was under the impression that it was some of the best flying in the system.

Best flying in the system doesn't change the fact that it's EWR.

Truth....

I'm reading Hamilton and when he came to North America he initially stayed in Elizabethtown, NJ...today Elizabeth. It describes Elizabethtown as idyllic. All I could think was "what happened?!?"

There’s a reason the Statue of Liberty has her back turned to NJ.

You know why New Yorkers are so rude and grumpy? The light at the end of the tunnel is NJ.

NJ, NY’s landfill.

I could go on for minutes....
