Who wants to get hired at United that bad? Not the only show in town and definitely not the best.

Maybe the 5000 or so qualified guys who have filled out an app? Maybe the 5000 not so qualified guys who have filled out an app? Maybe anyone who has toiled at a Commuter, 3rd tier Corp or lousy Non-sked 121 for 30-40 percent of what U pays? Maybe a guy sick of turns in an out of a majors hub with an RJ strapped to his a$$ who would like to fly internationally or less than 6 legs a day? etc etc etc? Maybe a guy who looks at our lowest paying job and salivates at the prospect of making decent money?

If you're lucky enough to pick and choose your first choice carrier, good for you. You must be quite the stud airman!

Don’t forget the handful of SWA, Delta, FEDEX AA, UPS guys that leave their airline to go to UA as well

But maybe it’s the only show/best in the town you live in. Might be better than commuting to a better airline.

I’m at United and there’s no other airline that I’d rather work for.

Call me crazy, I guess.

Good point! Worst decision I ever made. Maybe my old regional will hire me back. All this time off and making great money really blows!

I like that. I vote you in charge.

It's pretty easy to go and out get a MBA, or Masters in Human Resource Management. We could get a few pilots to go out and do this, and then we would have all the qualifications we need to do this. Think of all the money we would save. No need to hire a department of people when we could simply give our pilots a few no fly days a month, pay 'em a little bit like FODM's and call it good. An HR Masters degree is the easiest thing you could do (seriously it is).

It's probably going to be pretty important. As the so-called pilot shortage wanes on, fewer qualified applicants to choose from, that translates into the necessity of having a better hiring process on our end.
