Default United Holding Back RHA funding

5 days after pay day the 16th, my RHA excess distribution has not been posted to my account. We’re talking somewhere in the ballpark of $2500.

Spent 45 minutes on the phone last night with AON the RHA administration trying to find out why. Both parties pointing the fingers at the other as to who has responsibility for seeing deposits are made correctly....Aneequa gave said she don’t know, and Marty at AON found something in the plan documents that says deposits made take up to two weeks after payroll date to be deposited!

I noticed the excess funding payment for the first of August didn’t occur until the 5th. All of United’s regular contributions are posted exactly on payday...but when it comes to the money we’ve earned, it sits in the company’s account for up to two weeks.

I just can imagine why the union would have agreed to this. I wonder if it is even legal.

If you “can just imagine” I’d love to hear iwhat you imagine. Why do you assume that the union had anything at all to do with it? Honest question. I’m not at all surprised that the funds are awol. But I don’t know of any union connection to payroll and withholding. As an aggressive RHA spill guy, I’d certainly like to know.

We’ve had numerous payroll issues since the merge. I don’t ever recall the union having anything to do with any of them.

The RHA is a negotiated benefit. F. G. the R & I chairman, is on the investment advisory board, and a plan fiduciary. I can't imagine the union would have just told the company.. sure whatever you wanna do with this plan, but anything is possible I suppose.

The RHA didn't exist prior to the merger.

I understand it’s a negotiated benefit.
I also understand that it’s new.

What I don’t know is what the connection between payroll and the union is, if there is one. I’d love to know if they have the ability to intercept, delay or divert payroll disbursement. And if not, that would be worth posting at this point. Just in case.

I already posted just that. See the original post...”two weeks”. That is a delay. That is unless the rep at AON Hewitt is not giving me the info he claimed.

If there are say, 1000 other pilots who are owed the same amount...that is a lot of payroll the company is holding.

Did you file a PDR, or call your one of the MEC R and I reps?

Sttill unsure of how much control your union has over the transfer of funds. That seems outside of their sphere of influence.

What do you imagine they are up to?

A pilot against ALPA will always be against ALPA
Unfortunately there will be another topic that ALPA will be blamed soon

Black helicopters every time as we say.
