They're doing it all wrong. The personality test should be taken at the interview and used together with the interview to scale a candidate.

Using it as a screening tool is not really how these things are designed (or should) be used.

This was my thought exactly. Completely eliminating a candidate from consideration due to subjective results from a very impersonable computer test is very shallow minded IMO. I understand grading it and using it as a tool along with the F2F but if you want to really know about someone and how they will react, then have a conversation, face to face. The customers they are hiring me to serve are not a computer. They are real humans and I'm going to have to actually look them in the eye and engage them as such. Tells me that United is out of touch. The "Becoming United" module was all about bringing folks together, positively engaging your coworkers/customers and projecting the brand through uplifting human contact...then to get rejected by a computer. LOL! Very hypocritical IMO.

At least DAL tell you how to cheat to get through the test if you don't fall into the parameters the first time.

On one had, it's good training. Many times a customer will approach you and ask a question and you think to yourself "W-T-F-?". But then you can't answer the customer with TRUE or FALSE.

SkyNet is becoming self aware, the Hal9000 doesn't think you should do that, and the Borg will assimilate you.

On the other hand if you fail the first time, yet pass on the second time, what is it really testing? Was your basic personality really changed that much in one year? And if so, by what? Simply failing the test?

In my opinion it is more of a consistency test then a personality test, in my indoc class we took another personality test and the class was evenly split between the 4 major personalities of that test. I don’t think United is looking for a specific personality just someone that is consistent.

Anyone have their internet go out mid test? The test proctor company said to reach out to united so I emailed recruiting but havent heard back yet. Any other steps I can take? Thanks.

I agree! It is a consistency test. Don’t read into the questions. Just answer your with your first gut response. I failed it the first time. Fortunately, I was hired by another airline two weeks later. I answered with my first “gut response” on their version of the test.

Seriously? So I’m SOL because my ISP is unreliable?
