I had a CP meet and greet, then the job fair, both went great. Then those facilitated the official portion and the becoming United then Hogan. After which I got the rejection e-mail. During the test I also recieved a popup notification/violation in the background and also the program froze on me two times but I completed the test and hope those errors weren't apart of it. I like to think I answered honestly although maybe spent too much time pondering some questions, who knows.

Needless to say you work your whole career towards this goal just to get pushed off the boat by a computer which is the be-all end-all. Without even a chance of talking to someone it felt like a huge kick in the nuts. Then stories of people taking it a 2nd and 3rd time and passing and getting a job makes it seem even more pointless. It's a screening tool apparently still too many applicants.

Then you watch programs like Aviate get rolled out because they are worried they won't have enough applicants? Who knows. Guess I'll start looking for the number for that truck driving school.

That really sucks, and you have my sympathies for sure. The good news is that times are good and lots of other great companies are hiring! Keep pushing... The fact that got noticed by United is proof you’re doing all the right things.

100%

And this is why I work for another major.
It’s not my number one, but I’m making it work. It’s extremely frustrating, though. Worked extremely hard to get all the quals, went to a “first tier university”, completed a masters, and end up at a major hiring guys with no degree and 0 TPIC. Complete waste of a lot of my time and money if this was the end goal.

Do they follow up after the Hogan over weekends, or only weekdays?

crewdawg16 10-12-2019 07:00 AM

I took mine yesterday and nothing yet. I’m assuming Mon/Tues

The Hogan sucks.

I was hired in 13 so I am asking just out of curiosity but can you opt to take the Hogan at a testing center? When I took it I was at home on my computer. No camera, no worries about pop ups or the likes. If these are concerns then I would opt to use a testing center if possible. Computer fails.....not my fault. Pop up.....not my fault....etc. If I was offered the hogan today I think that is what I would do. Why risk it at home if it has become this strict of an environment.

Seems like everybody got the hogan test these days.

crewdawg16 10-12-2019 07:37 AM

I didn’t think of a testing center. I did get a pop up even though absolutely nothing else was running.
