Add to every question, "at work". That was some of the best advice anyone has given regarding the HPI on this board. Beyond the all to simple and not alway applicable "don't overthink it".

I may be able to pass it then. I left my ability to overthink in the rear view mirror years ago. I’m just trying to stay employed another 10 years at this point.

I’m not a very social person, I don’t like to be the center of attention, I don’t feel the need to take charge or to be in charge, I’m not impressed by status or income, but I do like fast cars, fast motorcycles, and anything that gets the adrenaline pumping. I’m horribly politically incorrect, I love an off color joke, I like guns and shooting sports, I’m annoyed by our hyper sensitive society, etc. According to the Hogan, I’m a bad apple, but when at work I play the part and act like a professional. Like everyone else, my training record is spotless and I seem to have a good time with everyone that I fly with. Could it be that the Hogan really doesn’t say much about who will make a good employee? I’d like to see it eliminated, but HR is mighty powerful when it comes to hiring pilots at United, and they seem pretty proud of their interview process.

You're already WAY overthinking it. You think those answers won't get past but you don't actually know that.

I watched this video: https://ravencareers.com/how-to-pass-hogan-assessment/ and then I took it. Tried to read as little as possible about it otherwise other than "be honest". Success. And I told it the not so good aspects of my personality, it didn't matter. It's calibrated to real pilots who had nothing to gain, not people trying to BS it and paint themselves in the best light possible.

This is spot on. Couldn’t agree more.

Like the "old" days! What a concept. Airlines used to hire for experience. The more the better. Today?

My point is that it may not be the most useful tool in determining if an applicant would make a good employee. Sitting down and talking to a person and reviewing their records will give you a better indication of that. Instead we send out a computerized personality test and toss you back into the water if you don’t score well. Other airlines are getting some great employees that we have turned away over the Hogan.

I would like to drop a bomb, at work.

Works if you fly the B-1.

Technical difficulties during test

Had multiple technical difficulties and calls to IT trying to start the test…

Aside from that, anyone ever pass the test that had a pop up blocker go off during the test? I 100% did not click anything, but their software said I did. Was able to finish the test, but now worried the proctor is going to flag me and I’ll not get to move forward.
