Now I’m getting targeted adds for clipboards and I didn’t even post in this damn thread! Thanks a lot

Jackpot if you get a free dork vest with every purchase.

My leg, I load the box. They do walk around.

Old UA shuttle thing.

And my vest came from Walmart for 3.95. Rolls up into a small ball rather than the football the company gave us.

Why wear one at all if you’re going to buy your own? FOM specifically says “United-issued” If I’m not going to follow policy, I’m definitely not spending my own money to do it.

I do the same with regards to the walk around. Nice to change it up.

I just print the Flt brief (new release thingy that came out a month or so ago). It has the Minto gas already on it. I just fold it so that is visible and write the planned gate gas on it since the FO is going to ask me about that later :D. I also write SOBs on it and basically use the margin of that for any other notes I need (arrival gate, etc).

Apparently we arent supposed to print those on the Bus...it causes the plane to stop working.

Already happened to me early on. Walkarounds are a thing of the past and never did pick up that ridiculous thing up in the first place.

Has anyone sent a thank you note to the Union Safety dork in SFO who dreamed this crap up?

I feel better because now I wear bubble wrap and a helmet with strobes on it too. Safety first.

I like how during a walk around it's A-OK to step over the fuel hose, deadman wire, grounding wire, air hoses etc but it's VERBOTEN to step over the bright yellow tow bar that's affixed on one end to a brake-set, chocked aircraft on one end and a brake-set, in park, engine off tug on the other. Safety first!

Not to worry, captain. I'll be happy to put on my vest and do the walk around. I'll even wear my hat.

Do me a favor: while I'm out there, instead of calculating what your $280-$350/hr will get you in the de-ice pad, could you maybe step back and say a few words to the passengers while we are sitting at the gate? It goes a long way... especially with the 1st class pax.

Thanks.
