The communication piece that was put out months ago from ALPA discussed the purple tint in certain lighting conditions.

The explanation was that the original fabric would not accept the dye properly, so they changed the fabric.

Well I guess changing the fabric isn’t the issue, it’s the actual dye. I’m not an authority on that however.

I did hear one of our ACP’s that’s working on the company uniform committee state that the issue would be resolved in this current wear test. It’s definitely not resolved.

Here’s to all of the Purple Pilot Eaters out there! Yeah👊

I just flew a trip with a Captain that was wearing the new version.

Positives:
changing to silver instead of gold stripes.
changing to thinner stripes.
the tie looked really good.
blazer has a double vent instead of single.
silver/platinum hardware instead of gold
Captain said the shirt was very good, with some stretch and open-top pockets.
Captain said the overall quality and fit was much improved.

Negatives:
the actual design of the wings and hat emblem. Seemed much too "pointy" and un-traditional, especially the hat emblem.
there is no clip-on tie for the testers... though I'm guessing there will be in the finished product.

Overall, I'd prefer it if the blue was a touch darker, but not much. Overall it looks good.

This.

I also finally saw the revised test in person. It's not what I would have picked, but it's not horrendous, and it's not purple. The hardware looks much better in person than photos, even if it's still not my taste.

But overall, it's fine. Clearly, doing a test was the right call and the big problems have been fixed.

There are bigger fish to fry than uniform induced helmet fires.

Yes. Two months ago, things were sailing well and we were hiring 1000 a year.
We were able to spend money on a lot good improvements. Lots. Now we cannot.
Yes, uniforms are impacted... along with a bunch of other things.

Our focus... and that of the Union and the company... is on getting through this and coming out on top.

Your point is?
