756 Fleet Parked?

I heard a rumor that all 756 flying has been pulled down after May 3rd, any truth to this?

cadetdrivr 04-24-2020 02:44 PM

As of right this moment, yes.

UAL only had a small number of 756s flying in May to start with.

We don't know if it's because the loads are light so operationally it makes sense to simplify and operate lower cost 737s on the domestic segments, or if it's a temporary issue while trips are being rebuilt, or if it's a preview of things to come.

Things are changing on a minute by minute basis, so standby to standby.

There's lots of 756 pilots with AV days and RSV in May, so if this is just a temporary issue of rebuilding the flying there's plenty of coverage.

A little bit of communication as to what the newest plan is would be nice. I don’t expect long term plan obviously. But simply why no flying is shown past the 3rd would be nice? Maybe if there is a possibility of new flying being built as the days progress, more planes to long term parking, etc.

No chance.

Nobody on the fleet is going to take an ersl if they know the fleet is parked. They will leave June flights in system to scare people into taking leave.

It’s going to make the furlough plans much less complicated and costly, with one less fleet type. This has been tentatively planned since around the time of the first “town hall”.

We will likely come out of this with three fleet types.

737, 777 and 787. I'm going to miss fifi.

I could see that. But at the same time, now all of those pilots that took eSRL’s or empty lines for May could be kicking themselves and will roll the dice for June being an easy 73 hours. Time will tell just what the hell the company thinks they are doing with us I suppose.

It’s official on CCS. All 756 pilots between May 4th to June 4th will have no responsibilities to the Company.

Thoughts and prayers for all those household dogs tonight in the homes of those that took an eSRL or god forbid an empty line.

I sure am glad I chose the 73 hour stay at home RSV line this month vs an eSRL. :D jk, I'm not even on the fleet, but I wonder about the timing on this one. It appears they made sure to squeeze out every eSRL and empty line they could before announcing this.
