I didn’t comment on anyone’s ideology nor did I side with anyone. I generally don’t care what someone’s political view is and I really don’t care what an anonymous forum members opinion is on politics.
I made an observation that you’re burning hot on here and maybe consider chilling out for a bit? Nothing more, nothing less. But bringing up RJ’s age is absurd and only supports my observation that you’re in need of some serious chill out time from APC.

BTW I explained my reference to his age in a reply to him. I hope it's chill enough for you.

My best earning years have been under Trump. Neither your point or mine are indicative of anything without further context.
I’m sure an administration whose anti-white, anti-middle class, anti-carbon is gonna do wonders for our careers.
As to the 4th stripe, still wearing it. For how long? Who knows. Not too concerned about it. I’ve yet to turn 35. I’m sure I’ll be alright in the long run.

Not in favor of any political party? OK.
And what life experiences did I dismiss? You apparently feel you grew up poorer than me (not sure what that has to do with anything?), yet you have no idea about my background or upbringing. You even top it off asserting that I've had a 'charmed life' compared to you? I'm not sure what to do with that whole line of conversation. I can assume from your posts so far that you've worked hard and overcome a lot of obstacles to get here. With all sincerity I say well done.
As far as your age and experience - YOU brought it into the conversation. It is relevant because of the very first sentence in the post I quoted above. I took your words literally and assume you believe that this administration is the reason for these being your best earning years. Did I misunderstand? If you actually believe that. I'd suggest expanding your perspective by looking back 20, 30, or more years to get a more complete understanding of the cause-effect relationship between politics & the piloting career. There are plenty of extreme positions & opinions - ignore them and look at the big picture.
I won't even comment on the anti-'fill in the blank' rant. I guess you didn't technically favor a political party, but even a single cell amoeba has the capability to deduce your opinion.
I guess my reaction to your last paragraph is what ruffled all the APC panties? IMO you are WAY too cavalier about losing your Captain position. Good for you, I'm glad your age and seniority make you not too concerned. There ARE a lot of pilots concerned about the backsliding and your dismissiveness rubs me the wrong way. You're not just along for the ride - you are responsible for maintaining and improving the profession. It's my opinion (sorry for offending anyone...) that based on your post you don't quite understand the impact party politics has on our career. Feel free to disagree, but just keep an open mind and pay close attention in the future.
As to your last post and additional guesses about what I'm like at work and elsewhere, I'll just say that you really don't know me. We may have even met if you're a bus pilot.
Let me break down my comments: taking one data point to prove a theory is inconclusive and lazy. Here is what I wrote “My best earning years have been under Trump. Neither your point or mine are indicative of anything without further context.” Making glib retorts like that doesn’t prove anything. That was my point. Analyzing all the relevant data points is the only way to support a hypothesis or opinion in this case. But it is an opinion.
As to my age and all, I believe I was replying to Guppies jab before you inserted yourself into our tiff. While I may not have been on property for the ESOP, bankruptcy, furloughs, and merger it doesn’t mean I’m not a student of history.
No one is being cavalier about backwards movement. You think I’m indifferent about my displacement and real threat of being on the street? That threat and conversation has dominated my household since this whole thing fired off. I’ve written and spoken with my reps. They are well aware of where I stand. I will not negotiate in public unless you consider FPTLD one. You and I can’t control the outcome. We’re along for the ride.
Do I enjoy all that comes with the 4th stripe? Of course. But it does not and will not define me. I’ve been poor like I’m sure many others here. The relevance is it has removed the fear of going there once again. Management can’t scare me with it. If I’m going down, I’m going down swinging. Not one red cent! Can you say the same?

Your best earning years have been under a contract signed in 2012 and extended in 2016. Both before Trump was elected. Enjoy, and hold on as long as you can. I first held Captain at the U at 33, but the Triple was too sweet. The second time I was 39 and I actually upgraded. The third, 47. The forth???

Going forth, I hope there won’t be a fourth. 😉 I haven’t lost my captaincy as of yet, not even on paper. The point was that this career can go south, no matter age or promise. It seems to really go south when the party of the corporate tax cut is in the Oval Office.
