Please PM me the name of this union person if you don’t mind.

It’s not political garbage. It’s the truth. Take off the MAGA hat. This is a serous issue for our airline. Good thread on FDX board about their CAN layovers. Same crud, different city. Current Admin has done nothing to address this. Bottom line it’s time to turn the screws on Chinese crews laying over in US.

I’m definitely not a MAGA person. I read Dave Fitzgerald’s post as someone answered his concern with “COVID won’t be a thing anymore after the election.” We all know how that went.

I think the Union rep thought the problem with China might be over once the election was over. I could be wrong though.

They said that the politics would change once the election was over, so anything done prior would be wasted effort. Not the answer I was looking for.

Not really that the problems would be gone by then. Once you understand that the Chinese are out for only the Chinese and they will do anything they think they can get away with to advantage themselves, you understand a lot of their motivations. Yes, stereotyping but seems to hold true--at least politically.

True, but turbo charged when it’s The Party. Taipei keeps a pretty tight lid on us, but no where near as painful as The Commie overlords were in PVG.

Agreed. It's not pleasant but I can handle the restrictions in SYD, ICN, and TPE. I could probably even do PVG if they didn't have all the other BS and an adequate hotel.

Do mean "degenerates" like the Uighurs? China is certainly working hard to "keep them in line".
