Well heck, I shoulda picked the 78 in the Do Over. Saw a double DH trip to PVG in EWR 77. That soft time may ease some layover pain.

No, not really new.

Meaning, the vibe I got was,
1. Don't drink the water
2. certainly don't brush your teeth with the water
3. Think seriously whether you want to take a shower with that water.

When it gets to not taking a shower and the water is suspect? Yeah, I'm the new guy....

UALers;

I posted this months ago in the FedEx forum to help our guys out, maybe it’ll help you too. Welcome to our world...

Starting a thread to provide hacks for surviving lockdowns (can't leave hotel room).

1. If its more than 24hours, you're probably gonna wanna make some Pruno (prison wine). The instructions are on the internet, but you're going to need some supplies. Before flight, order a bunch of fruit plates to take to room. Take all available sugar from coffee catering to room with you. Bring yeast from home, or take dinner rolls from crew meal. Bring empty Crystal Geyser water bottles for storing and trading wine. You'll need a large garbage bag too, although dry cleaning bag might work.

2. Bring Allen wrenches. Unscrew small vanity mirror in bathroom. Use it to see what's going on in your hallway.

3. Prison tattoo. Luckily, most of the supplies are in your room. You will need to bring a lighter to melt some plastic (battery cover on tv remote?). Use spring from hotel pen for needle. Use body lotion in your ink mixture.

4. You'll want to establish your Hallway cred early on. Find the biggest guest you can and punch them in the face.

5. Use the room service guy to transport your trades (Pruno, smokes) with other guests. Oh, bring smokes.

6. Other hacks?

You are being extremely dramatic.

I operate and layover in China all the time, so here’s the deal. Don’t drink tap water, but use the tap water for everything else. Shower, brushing your teeth, washing your hands, etc.

You win the internet today. Excellent.

You operate in China? That's a lot different than layover in the PVG hotel.

I gave this as one small example. We do not need to be treated like a criminal. But if you don't mind, go right ahead.

I’m laughing everyday as ORD 787 PVG goes premium. I guess miserable conditions are ok, as long as there is add pay!

Perhaps we have a case of pilots helping pilots. Win win for everyone.

Interesting point of view. While I see what you’re getting at, we have a pretty serious problem over there that is not going to be resolved anytime soon.

Common fact that it’s the American way, well I mean Untied in this case or ANY others really - everyone for the most part has a price and Companies have proven that over and over these past 7 months or so.
