It would be largely business and first classes I am sure. Not all wealthy individuals own private planes. Many don't see the need or fly enough to make the numbers work.

don’t disagree with that. But as I mentioned, the vast majority of business/first passengers don’t pay for the seat. It’s a tiny market we’re talking about, imo.
Is 1% a reasonable percentage in your estimation? |

This whole thing is nothing more than virtue signaling.
Battery-powered VTOL aircraft capable of carrying passengers any kind of practical distance are not anywhere close to being feasible. However, that doesn't stop the litany of companies out there from touting how close they are to making eVTOL a reality. Certification and flying are always "just a few years away." Yet, when you try to find actual, no-kidding footage of these in use, I think the most accomplished company has managed a couple of 50' hops off the runway for mere minutes at a time. The technology isn't there. It likely never will be. But those realities don't generate clicks on CNN. |

There’s no way eVTOLs at United will happen anytime in the next 10 years, if not even longer.
Mesa will not be flying an eVTOL anytime soon. Even with a certified airframe and regulatory structure this would take years. How long did approval take for SWA to fly ETOPs to Hawaii on an aircraft they already owned? There has to be another angle here. |
Too lazy to find the article but groundbreaking is happening in Orlando for the first EVTOL airport, not too far from MCO.

Not sure about that. The first airline that can combine local transportation to the airport (eliminating the time and cost of getting to the airport and parking fees) with the total trip and include it in a single ticket purchase might have a huge advantage over the competition.
