... or the one guy that bids reserve, makes his 73 + unused shorts to do nothing, and has a chuckle to himself about the guys working 35 for 70... and those guys are laughing at someone else...

While that is looking like it would have to be next October to see those numbers, as someone who was looking for another job in that bottom third, 35 hours of 737/320/756 pay is more than 80 hours at Amerijet and a lot less work. It's about twice + what I could get over at Lowe's. Unemployment is like 700 a week with Uncle Sam tossed in.

So yeah, 35 hours is better than a furlough... Especially for the middle tier dudes who get to keep their 787FO 320CA gigs AND Pay rates instead of being bottom reserve back in Newark for 100 bucks less an hour.

None of this addresses why Insler won't take a dump without a pompous self-serving press release crediting the LOA with the industry leading bowel movement.

I already answered your question. He’s a career politician and is clearly demonstrating traits accordingly. What’s next man? “Why does my dog always bark when the doorbell rings?” It’s just what they do... you complaining on a public forum isn’t going to change that behavior.

You nailed it. UAL ALPA needs a Whiteford or Bathurst in the ‘leadership’ position. Yeah ... that’s it.

With April bidding opening soon and no Cares 3.0 yet I assume we're back on the LOA. Has there been any communication about this that I missed?

there will be so much open time after the April awards
whoever wants 73 hours can and will be able to build their pay

Not true of all BES. Feds are still working on CARES 3, but they’re fighting over much sexier stuff than airline aid. It will likely come through eventually, but mid-March would be the earliest. (In keeping with our dysfunctional government, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they push it a couple weeks into CARES 2 expiration just to show their hands were tied, and backdate it to April 1.) In short, be prepared to bid for April as though LOA rules apply with likely CARES pay reconciliation by the time the checks actually arrive.

CCS Message today:

April schedule awarding will be conducted under the terms and conditions of the Pandemic Recovery LOA. If CARES 3.0 passes and covers April, we’ll work with ALPA on reprising the “Paragraph S Compensation” process that was used in December and January and apply it to April.

Recall that Paragraph S payments will neither increase, decrease, or offset in any way the pay you will otherwise receive for April. All pilots can continue to fly whatever schedule level they had planned for April, and compensation for that flying will not be impacted by the “Paragraph S compensation” payments.

Scheduling April under the Pandemic Recovery LOA means there will be significantly fewer excess reserve pilots in April, therefore yesterday’s two-month ESLR awards were limited in scope and number.

Lastly, the April bid period falls into the “45% bucket” of the LOA, meaning MPG for April is as follows:

- 60:00 for Senior
- 55:15 for Middle
- 35:00 for Junior

My personal opinion only... Insler's heading to management. He's being groomed as we speak. Maybe Quigley's replacement.
