But the good news is that the widebody stuff comes back as of Feb 2022 and there’s even rumors that some of the 756 flying might come back sooner.

So my guess is that a new hire right now could conceivably see a vacancy bid to get to IAD by next spring.

Thanks! I’ll find a way to fly anything made of metal to be home based.

Got the interview invite, never did get the Becoming United email. The invite listed May/June, but nothing was open in May and only two dates in June!

*this is just my best guess, but the bottom line is...737 will be fastest to IAH, followed by 320, and then 756.

So depending on your start dates and pay calculation cutoff dates, it might take a couple pay cycles for your paychecks to stabilize.

I think they will explain things in your indoc, but for your expectations and financial sake I would plan on having sufficient cash to make it a month or so.

And just when you think you understand it, then you can enter into the bizarre world of PTC MPG LPV pay, bidding in a vacation month, “flying for free,” etc.

Partially correct. 1st of the month paycheck is either 35, 17.5, or 0 hours for the PRIOR month based on a snapshot of your pay on the 16th of the month prior. The 16th of the month paycheck is for whatever you actually earned that prior month minus your pay advance that was paid on the 1st. We are always paid in arrears.

It’s in the UPA but if the snapshot taken on the 16th is 45 hours or greater your advance for the next month is 35 hours. If it is less than 45 but greater than 35 hours the advance is 17.5 hours. If it’s less than 35 hours the advance is 0...

LinkedIn is for corporate/desk jobs. I don't know of any major US carrier that uses LinkedIn for pilot recruitment.
Most likely, you'd just be referred to AirlineApps.

How does pilot hiring affect the LOA? Are the reduced MPG's (after PSP ends) terminated officially or unofficially?

Unofficially. It isn't written into the TA but the company has stated their intention to waive the LOA MPGs as long as new hires are on property.

It’s a trap if it’s not on paper. There is nothing to keep them honest. On the flip side if it was on paper they could still go against their word but it’ll be more dishonorable because the pilot group could throw their written words in their face.

Whats the status of the 6 seats? I heard they have been installed, but not flown yet? Isn't that an LOA termination trigger?
