PS: middle group captain here that stayed as a captain after the LOA so you don’t start that excuse...FO with captain pay or so

We had a lot of people 4500+ talking about preparing for a third furlough either for attention or genuine fear because "they had seen this before." It doesn't go both ways. We didn't kick the bottom of the list to the curb and we outed the idiotic pockets on each side of the argument.

The furloughed guys at Compass, Trans States, and ExpressJet (and others) also thank you for your vote. Less competition for the tiny fraction of jobs that were out there 6 months ago.

I am right at the border of being in the bottom 3rd and was expecting to be furloughed. Thankfully I was ready for it if need be but I know a lot of guys wouldn’t have been so I’m glad we voted to keep guys on property even if they would have been anyway.

Not saying anyone could have known what was coming, only contending the idea that the LOA is what got us to where we are now. Govt cheese kept pilots paid & the airline solvent, & it’s definitely what put us in a position to start hiring for a post-pandemic market while we’re still at 50% pilot block hours.That would NOT be happening with an active LOA but no CARES $$$.
