Default Food app

I heard you guys have some kind of app that you can put on your phone to order food on any flight you're working over 3 and 1/2 hours. Is this correct. Or something close? Hoping we can ask for that in our new contract at Delta.

Thanks

We get meals on flights over 4 hours.(plus others based on certain criteria) The app you speak of is the FA call button. I’m not aware of one of those on my phone.

pax in the back must pay for anything (booze, food) with a credit card stored in the ual app. Not sure how that works, haven’t used it yet.

Nope. Not so. Don't know where you heard that. We have a place where we can preference different meals. EG, Lighter choice chicken, beef, Hindu. But that's it. It's in our CCS computer system. If you make a change it takes 2 days to show up.

I mean, technically if you’re using CCS on your phone this may be what was explained to him. Not sure what meal options they have at Delta but this is a pretty good description of how it works at UAL.

Thanks guys. We have no way of choosing anything. On flights over five and a half hours we get a meal. Which pretty much means nothing domestic. And the flight attendants choose first we get the last two whatever is left over on over five and a half hours.

But you get to wear sweet double-breasted jackets.

If our report time is before 0800 lcl, we get breakfast, despite the flight time only being an hour sometime. That can sometimes get a little busy unless the flight attendants start the oven during taxi out. Multi-leg days (we have very few of those on my fleet) also trigger meals on flights less than 4 hours (block) depending on sit time in between and availability of food options in said airport. All that being said, we are scheduled for crew meals a lot more than other airlines and we eat a lot. Having the ability to preference meal options (Hindu/Moslem/Kosher/lighter choice chicken or beef or seafood/Asian vegetarian) prior to a trip is nice and during the pandemic, we still had our hot meals even while 1st class cabins had halted hot meal choices.

I think you might have confused this new feature of our app for paying customers with what we can do for crew meals. When Deadheading, I have not actually tried to investigate whether I might be able to order something for myself yet via the app. I'm guessing the answer is no for the time being. As it has been said, changing crew meal preferences via CCS is about all we can do.

Simple answer...Yes we get to pick our breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack meals on our scheduling website. I believe that was the gist of your question not necessarily the app part.
You need to have the request in I believe 48 hours before the flight.
