Default United giving RW turbine time credit

I've heard that United Airlines is giving credit for RW turbine time towards the 1000 FW turbine required. Does anyone have any details or actually been given an interview with less than 1000 FW turbine?

They have always considered RW towards total time so I’m confused about this statement by raven. I’ve never heard of any pure helo guys going to United. I wish it were true as I was a helo guy but I don’t ever see that happening. As far as United is concerned, you’re still going to need that fixed wing time. I also don’t know how you can credit one category towards another so they’re going to have to change the wording on their application. It still specifically says 1000 hours of airplane time.

Turbine is Turbine. Doesn't matter if it has rotors or not.

And a turban is a turban....

But until our company changes some stuff, not all turbine is counted equal;
Flight time requirement:
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours of total time
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours of fixed wing turbine time
  • Prefer a minimum of 100 hours of complex flight time within the last 12 months

FWIW, pure helo guys going to the majors is happening right now, though I don't know about UA. Just read about an army pilot with only pure helo time who went straight to Frontier. Of course, he is a ring knocker with an engineering degree and I think he punched a few tickets on his own dime, but still - it's definitely happening in some 121 outfits.

I find this very difficult to believe.

RTAG guy from the 160th SOAR with some connections, definitely not the norm (yet). As a former mil helo guy I’d like to see this change. It’s taken me 2000 hours at a regional and LCC to get the invite with 3100 mil hours and 2400 Turbine RW PIC. That said, every legacy is now calling guys (like myself) with 6 hours of turbine FW PIC.

edit: on a side note, UA is the only one not to extend an interview invite, and I had a CP meet and greet that (I thought) went well.

Im guessing that the "punched a few tickets on his own dime" was paying for some FW ratings/ME time above what mil comp could give him.
