what is a good contract?

Perfect is the enemy of good enough.

I said nothing about a perfect contract. That doesn’t exist because it’s a negotiation. Both sides have to give things to get things. Like I said, everything in our UPA has a price associated with it.

For a good enough contract, what are you willing to concede? (Rhetorical question)

Let me guess, the company can’t afford to give us a good contract right now? You are ok with 2025 for your new contract then I guess. Because, you know, we have to be profitable right? Can’t ask a homeless guy for a hundred bucks and all that. Just what the company wants you to believe. We are about to be theta F’d because 5 percent more in 2 years won’t make up for 15% more inflation in that time period. Your mindset about this is representative of the pilot group at large though and is the reason why we won’t get a contract for years.

I think an extension would fall in the same category as another LOA. The pilots are tired of throwing away leverage left and right to help fix the company’s problems. Can we please get some chicks fishing picks soon? Hope you’re on the water right now!

A big chunk of them wouldn't recognize leverage if they were rear-ended by it. Another chunk would be reluctant to flex a pube, let alone any muscle to use it. So, you wait and get further behind with every paycheck. Meanwhile, since Covid showed up the Corp and 135 operators are short of qualified pilots. And as a result, their pay and benefits are going up. It's a good time to be looking for a flying job. Keep your powder dry, you'll get 'em next time! /s
