That's a lot of extra chiropractor visits.

I know that’s why I put the little green face there. I was being sarcastic as that’s a legacy United term for a pairing. Plus an id is my badge. :D

But is the jet a guppy?

Other airlines call it a trip. So if you go on a 3 day trip it has a ID number like D1007.

A ship is something that moves about the water and floats. Usually.

But hey, at least we aren’t bringing DSLs into the discussion.

I’m sorry, but how is the company “taking a mile” on this? Has anyone been denied reimbursement for transportation 30 minutes past block in? If not, the company is upholding their contractual obligations. Sucks if you’re seeing more transportation delays, but I think directing that frustration at the airline is misguided. I’ve found most things I do that involve the services of low-wage labor have become less convenient over the past couple of years.

At block + 30 minutes expense a cab & add it to the list of things that suck just a little bit more in the post-COVID world…

Point being, the poster is demeaning the OP for upholding the contract and being frustrated by the service provided IAW the contract. Guarantee the company knows every instance a pilot voluntarily waives a contract provision and uses it as a data point to weaken contract language at every LOA/MOU/S6 negotiation. It’s why PDRs are so important so that we can do the same, document every instance they’re not living up to the contract.

Bid what you want. Less layovers in BFE for the rest of us.

You think the company is aware of every instance of a hotel van running behind & pilots not expensing a cab?! That’s just silly.

Understand, I’m all for sticking to the contract. Expense a cab at block + 30 every time. My guess is that you’ll never have a claim denied. But do they know if you waited 40 for the driver to show? No, they do not.

^^^ THIS

Problem is too many pilots don’t self help when wait exceeds the UPA… or they agree to a combined crew van when it’s not allowed. We are our own worst enemy on UPA transport compliance.
