WTH with the transportation??

My last two ID’s, my crew has waited at least 20 minutes EVERY single layover….and that’s not including the three times I got an Uber and had to expense it. Not only that……but our hotel desk is overseas now???

I'd attribute it to the transportation companies having a lot of difficulty staffing their operations. That's a low paying job with a lot of turnover.
It sounds like you've gotten on a bad luck streak with respect to pickups.

When you’re on the backside of a 14-16 hour day and have a minimal layover, yeah minutes matter.
It’s also the death of 1000 cuts erosion of our QOL and contract standards. If you’ll tolerate 20-30 minute delays, how long before the company tries to write in a 45-60 minute wait period into the next contract. “Normalization of deviation” I believe is the phrase the company likes to use.
Details matter, and if you give the company an inch of slack they’ll take a mile. If you’re not willing to fight to uphold the contract why don’t you just shut up and not bemoan the ones who will? Better yet just say thanks.

yes. 20 minutes. At the curb. On a short overnight, that’s unacceptable. The INSTANT we are 30 past block-in…..I’m arranging for a cab or an Uber, but it’s still frustrating and adds to the overall fatigue of a ball buster PAIRING. I only use the term “ID”, so that others know what I’m saying. Transportation should be there when we are. I don’t GAF about loading my bags. The tip is for being there and not wasting our unpaid rest.

While transportation is important, my major concern has been the level of criminal activity around our downtown layovers as it relates to crew safety. I’ve had two shootings within 2 blocks of my hotel in the last 6 months. I have no desire to be on a big city downtown layover domestically and avoid them if I can.
