$2 for the hotel van
$5 for the limo drivers

Buy beer and food for every FO that tips, but not if they don't.

$3 for the maid. I carry a lot of singles in my bag.

Uber black or Lyft lux please. Those drivers are vetted and to only level of service United would remotely accept insurance wise to carry their employees.

tips are not part of any transportation contract

Hotel desk is not outsourced oversees (might be thinking of DH deviation). They are chronically understaffed and overworked though.

I loved the crew member sitting in my transportation in EWR the other night “ours never showed”. When I expressed my disdain for his choice over self serve. “What do you want me to do?” Nothing boomer. Never mind.

Inflation and tipping

If you’re banging your fists on the table about getting pay rate increases commensurate with inflation (not saying I agree of disagree) but you’re still tipping the same $1 you did in 1994, you may be a hypocrite. $1 in 1994 = $2.01 today. 2005 = $1.52.

BUT, $0 in 1994 = $0 today. I’ve actually quadrupled the amount I tip! How about you? Cheap much? ONLY $2???? Hypocrite!

SMH on another tip thread.

Where did I say that I personally tip $2? I routinely tip $5.

Go to your local brick-and-mortar bank. Get a nice big wad of Thomas Jeffersons; most do stock them. Start there as a MINIMUM tip, adding additional Thomas Jeffersons as appropriate. Think of two Thomas Jeffersons as roughly equivalent to a base level Starbucks. They don’t call it “Fivebucks” these days for nothing.

As far as the transportation timing, be proactive (as any *C*aptain should) and plan so as to be leaving the curb at the contractual limit. Maybe I’ve been going to different locations than the OP, but I’ve had almost zero problems recently, i.e. transportation has been waiting curbside 90% of the time.

I have had people refuse to take Thomas Jefferson. Phony as a three dollar bill, they say. . .

I guess you can’t fix stupid.

$2 =< 10 minutes, 1 dollar per 10 minutes after that is what I do. Seems fair 🤷🏻‍♂️
