There was a lot of uncertainty about the return of the 777 fleet and high amounts of reserve. Our reserve rules are generally poor and downright untenable for most commuters. Thus the unfilled vacancies and release to new hires for indoc bids.

Over 50 unfilled 737 CA bids systemwide. For a new hire the question is do you want really bad narrow body flying, or learn how to take first break and never land.

Based on these snapshots. If these WB vacancies go unfilled, what are the odds of them showing up on the drops for new hires? I ask as a new hire who isn’t necessary interested in a WB slot at this moment of time, but a NB slot instead.

Yes there's a chance they could go to newhires. Unfilled widebody vacancies earlier in the year is what triggered widebodies going to newhires.
