A little known tidbit is that when the company issued FA new suitcases, it considered them company property. There have been cases where corporate security shows up wanting to inspect the “company property” when investigating pilfering from the jets.
Stealing is not ok and if security wanted to search your suitcase they probably could regardless of the brand. However, making it company property reduces the friction in a potential appeal and more applicable makes it tough to say no at the end of a pairing.
Think drug testing but with suitcases. There’s an extremely small problem (nonexistent ) yet we all get the hassle.
