United MEC announces suspension of TA Activit
Quote: Can the MEC kill it while voting is still on going?

No…well not like is being suggested.

Per the C&BL, a membership ratification will remain active unless superseded by another ballot.

The actual language: “Once membership ratification is established it will remain in effect until changed by another ballot of the membership through MEC action."

In other words, only another TA could kill this one. Given the magnitude of negativity, I wouldn’t think another one would even be discussed in that short amount of time. This MEC needs to run another poll, regroup (assuming recalls don’t happen), make another plan and go execute it. That can’t happen in the time left to vote.

They don’t want your input. They think we’re too dumb as lowly line pilots to consider our input.

Besides, this TA2022 was simply a continuation of the corruption we saw under Insler. TA2022 was written by Kirby and simply slid across the table for Hamilton to sign.

Quote: Supposedly ALPA conducts certification votes by secret ballot. The ballots are tallied and certified by a third party at the closing date.

It would be troubling to learn that the votes were being watched by ALPA (not to mention being in violation of bylaws and maybe labor law).

Maybe equally troubling is that the MEC suspended the TA based on negative feedback. When have we ever had an agreement that hasn’t had received overwhelming negative feedback?

This totally stinks.
I’m very suspicious of this as well. It’s supposedly secret, but I suspect they have an inside source that’s feeding them the numbers. Sounds like a Mission Impossible movie but the whole organization is so completely corrupt that nothing would surprise me.

Quote: Not sure why AA was so public with their offer, but their eagerness to match our TA all but publicly advertises that it’s at basement level. Really played their hand. Feels like amateur hour all across the board…
Kirby was former AA. There is animosity between AA and UA top executives.

The AA offer was a big FOOK YOU! from Isom to Kirby.

Quote: Wow! I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but they just saved Kirby from having to talk about his pilot group rejecting a contract 4 days before his investor call on 7/19. They just threw away a lot of leverage. Who’s side are they on?
I’m confused. Do you want the TA to fail or not?

I want the TA to fail, but I’m beyond that. The TA has already failed. I’m thinking about what comes next. We would have been better off with a 90/10 “No” than these shenanigans.

I was on the fence, ended up being a no vote due to scope changes and what I felt was pretty loose contractual language that basically allowed to company discretion over some of our “gains.”

I’m personally not on the pitchfork/recall bandwagon, I know a lot of these reps are good people who fly the line quite a bit and made a bad choice. That said, if they agree to suspend the vote, I will absolutely be on the recall/replace train. The vote is all about accountability and sending a message that the Four full-timers need to be flushed

Let’s be careful and not get overconfident. I still see, hear, and fly with people that “are still not sure” or “can’t see why it’s so bad”. I don’t trust this pilot group to vote this thing down. Whatever way it could get pulled off the table is fine.

Once it is though, the MEC and NC MUST be replaced…as a start.

I get that American has higher pay. But what about all the other improvements to reserve, reassignments, scope, etc? Can the MEC just throw these away unilaterally? Who are they to decide what's "better" once a TA is out for membership ratification? Isn't anyone sticking up for the "yes" voters e.g. reserve commuters who need better assignment predictability?

Hahaha. I’m new to this forum, but now I know you’re just trolling.👍
